The director of “Girls Rock!“, a documentary about another girls rock camp in Portland, Oregon, will be present at the screening on Sunday, March 9. Girls Rock! Chicago representatives will be available before and after the movie on opening night, March 7, and on Sunday, March 9, to answer questions about Chicago’s program.

Girls Rock! Chicago will be having a benefit rock show Friday, February 29th at The Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave, Chicago, Illinois. The show will feature Baby Teeth, The Fake Fictions, and Parsley Flakes. Cover is $8 and the show starts at 10pm. Proceeds will benefit Girls Rock! Chicago.
About the bands…
Chicago’s Baby Teeth draw on influences from vintage pop icons and bedroom confessional lyrics to kick out larger than life pop anthems. With their incredible energy and a new take on 70’s pop, Baby Teeth produce a sound that’s refreshingly endearing.
Formed in 2004, The Fake Fictions churn out a catchy sound filled with driving backbeats and dueling male/female vocals. This Chicago three-piece puts on a great live show with songs that will leave you nostalgic for simpler times.
Opening are Parsley Flakes, who’s fresh, synth-heavy sound only gets better live. The electro-punk trio’s energy is
contagious and is sure to get you on your feet.
Girls Rock! Chicago will be having a fundraiser on Thursday, January 10 from 9pm – 2am at Darkroom, 2210 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, Illinois. The event will feature DJ sets by DJs Defect, Willy Joy, and a tag team set by Protman & Alexander Bassett as well as a photobooth lounge. There is no cover, so come dance, drink, and strike a pose to help support Girls Rock!
Photos are only 3 for $5, and don’t miss out on the delicious baked goods! All proceeds will benefit Girls Rock! Chicago.
The Delilah’s fundraiser was a huge success thanks to our supporters and raffle sponsors. Elize Clark Riffe, Bobby Burg, Kate & Rachel from WLUW, and Matt Gambino all DJ’d and had really great sets and everyone had an awesome time.
