Several advisory board and volunteer positions for GR!C are available to qualified candidates. Please note that all positions are unpaid and are only open to female-identified applicants. All GR!C positions require a large commitment of both time and energy. Our volunteers and board members contribute their time, effort and skills because of a strong personal commitment to fostering girls’ self-esteem, creative expression and community awareness through rock music.

Board Positions
All board positions require a commitment of 5-20 hours per week, including bi-monthly meetings and publicity/fundraising events.
Treasurer
Key Qualifications
• Ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience in accounting (background in non-profit accounting helpful but not required).
• Knowledge of IRS forms and financial obligations of small to mid-size non-profit organizations
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Has a personal commitment to the unique mission of GR!C
Job Description
• The Board Treasurer oversees all financial functions and obligations of the organization
• Develops and maintains monthly financial statements and numerous grant budgets
• Develops budgets for proposed projects
• Prepares IRS form 990-EZ
• Works closely with Finance Committee members and Events Coordinator on developing budgets for publicity and fundraising events
• Attends monthly to bi-monthly board meetings
Events Coordinator
Key Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience in event-planning and/or fundraising
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Has a personal commitment to the unique mission of GR!C
• Ability to network creatively and within diverse communities
Job Description
• Responsible for planning and managing monthly publicity and fundraising events
• Coordinates the development of marketing materials for events including posters, flyers, emails etc.
• Organizes monthly meetings with the Fundraising Committee to plan and organize upcoming events
• Works closely with Board Treasurer on developing budgets for fundraising events
• Diversifies GR!C’s funding base by organizing events both connected to and distinct from the rock music community
Marketing Outreach Coordinator

• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to network creatively and throughout diverse communities

• Comfortable in articulating the mission and programming of GR!C
Job Description
• Networks and solicits support from local and national businesses and corporations to build a relationship between GR!C and the local business community
• Organizes and staffs opportunities for tabling at festivals and events
• Works in conjunction with gear coordinator to solicit in-kind donations of equipment and supplies from music stores and corporations
• Works with Finance Committee and Events Coordinator to provide business support or sponsorship for fundraising and publicity events
• Finds and secures venues for publicity and fundraising events as well as GR!C programs
Secretary

• Comfortable in articulating the mission and programming of GR!C
Job Description
• Takes detailed notes of all board meeting minutes
• Distributes meeting minutes to all board members and all non-board members in attendance
• Coordinates board meeting times, dates and locations
Non-Board Positions
All Non-board positions require a commitment of 5-10 hours per week including monthly meetings and publicity/fundraising events. All non-board volunteers are welcome to attend monthly board meetings.
Gear Assistant
• Works in conjunction with the Gear Coordinator to solicit and obtain equipment donations from music stores, corporations and individual donors
• Schedules and performs pick-ups from individual donors throughout the Chicagoland region
• Assesses current inventory and works to replace and/or repair damaged or unwanted gear
• Has a personal commitment to the unique mission of GR!C
• Must have reliable access to a car and valid driver’s license
Fundraising Committee (3 positions)
• Works in conjunction with the Events Coordinator to plan and implement monthly publicity/fundraising events
• Works with Board Treasurer to create monthly fundraising agendas and event budgets
• Assists in the creation of marketing materials to publicize events
• Has a personal commitment to the unique mission of GR!C
• Diversifies GR!C’s funding base by organizing events both connected to and distinct from the rock music community
Curriculum Committee (3 Members)
• Works in conjunction with the Curriculum Coordinator to update and organize handouts, educational materials and lesson plans for instrument instructors, band coaches and counselors
• Has a knowledge of instruction in bass, guitar, drums or keyboards.
• Has a personal commitment to the unique mission of GR!C
Workshop Coordinator
• Works in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit volunteers to lead unique and engaging workshops for GR!C programs
• Creates an outline for specific programs and guides workshop leaders in developing unique and engaging workshop curriculum
• Updates workshop curriculum based on programing and the development of new projects
• Has a personal commitment to the unique mission of GR!C
