2016 Camp Application Info

Thank you for your interest in applying for Girls Rock! Chicago’s 2016 summer camp!

Girls Rock! Chicago will once again be hosting two sessions of our summer camp for girls ages 8 – 16. Both sessions of camp will be held at Josephinum Academy located at 1501 N. Oakley Blvd. in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago, IL.

BOTH SESSIONS ARE NOW FULL. ANY APPLICATIONS RECEIVED WILL BE ADDED TO OUR WAITING LIST.

Session 1: Monday, July 18th – Sunday, July 24th
Recording Session: Saturday, July 23rd
Showcase: Sunday, July 24th

Session 2: Monday, August 8th – Sunday, August 14th
Recording Session: Saturday, August 13th
Showcase: Sunday, July 14th

*Applicants MUST commit to the entire Monday – Sunday schedule.*
*Campers MUST be between the ages of 8 – 16 during camp.*

The Monday – Friday portion of camp runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Campers may arrive as early as 8:00 AM and be picked up as late as 6:00 PM.

The showcase and recording will be on the weekend after camp week.* Please plan to be available both of these days between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The showcase will be at Thalia Hall, and the recording session location will be announced soon.  Campers should anticipate spending 1 – 2 hours at the recording session. THE APPLICATION PROCESS HAS THREE STEPS:

1. The program application & optional financial aid application
2. A non-refundable $10 application fee
3. A creative sample prepared by the camper

In your creative sample, tell us why you want to participate in Girls Rock! Chicago summer camp. You can use any medium. Some ideas: Write a letter, draw a picture, make a collage, record or write a song or a poem.
