Gabriella Hirsch, Program Coordinator!

We are so excited to start the new year by introducing you to a new member of the Girls Rock! Chicago staff!

Gabriella began taking piano lessons at age five, and as she grew up in Virginia, and later, Florida, this instrument became an increasingly important part of her life. She earned degrees in Keyboard Performance and Music Therapy at the University of Miami, where she also studied guitar and vocal jazz. She now teaches at the Old Town School of Folk Music and is a member of the Barrel of Monkeys Theater Company. She has produced and performed in her own musical comedy at Second City and the Chicago Musical Theater Festival. You can often find her onstage and at the keys in local bands and at comedy venues. Gaby has also worked as a board-certified Music Therapist for high school students and young adults with special needs.

Throughout her time as an Instrument Instructor and Band Coach with GR!C, she has been inspired to see and learn how music, writing, and teamwork can empower girls, trans youth, and gender nonconforming youth. She is thrilled to continue serving this organization in a new way.
