    For one night only, they’ll be performing Fugazi’s 13 Songs, plus some of their favorites.
    Girls Rock! Chicago camper band extraordinaire When Flying Feels Like Falling opens.

    Attention! Attention! If you are a camper or parent of a camper who borrowed gear through the 2011 GR!C Gear Loan Program, mark your calendars for Sunday, June 10th. GR!C staff will be holding down the loading dock at East Bank Storage from 12 (noon) to 3:00pm, ready and waiting to welcome back any and all gear borrowed in 2011.  Girls Rock! Chicago will also be accepting donations of instruments in good or working condition that day. So sweep out those storage units and schlep your musical goodies our way! We’re super excited to have this former GR!C volunteer and seasoned volunteer coordinator via her work with 826CHI helping us put together a killer lineup of helping hands for June & July camp sessions.     Fill out your volunteer application today & help us empower girls to rock at our 7th ANNUAL GIRLS CAMP!

    Application acceptance is ongoing & there are tons of different ways to get involvedGirls Rock! Chicago relies entirely on generous, dedicated volunteers to staff our week-long summer camps and outreach efforts in the months prior.  So, stop worrying that you’re not some famous musician (though, if you are—we’ll take ya!) and simply check out our wide range of desired skill-sets knowing that YES! YOU ARE NEEDED! Read more detailed descriptions of camp roles in the Camp Week Positions section, located under the Volunteer tab.

    WHO CAN APPLY FOR CAMP-WEEK POSITIONS: Girls Rock! Chicago welcomes all volunteers who are female, transgender (regardless of identity) and/or gender non-conforming, to apply for camp-week positions. We are committed to providing a safe space for everyone, as well as educating staff, volunteers, and community members in order to create an inclusive environment for all. Positions outside of camp are open to everyone.

    2012 Camp Dates Confirmed! Apply Now!

    Girls Rock! Chicago is thrilled to announce our 2012 camp dates and locations. This summer’s camps will take place at Chicago Quest, a dynamic 21st Century learning facility finishing it’s first school year in Chicago. Quest is located in the old Sojourner Truth building at 1443 N. Ogden on Chicago’s Near North Side.

    We will once again be offering two, week-long sessions of Girls Rock! Chicago Summer Camp. Session one will take place on Monday, June 25 - Sunday, July 1 and session two on Monday, July 23 - Sunday, July 29. Each camp session includes five days of instrument instruction, workshops and band practice as well a weekend dedicated to performing live and studio recording. More detailed information can be found on our Girls Camp page. Please plan to attend all seven days if you are interested in participating in summer camp.
