2009 has been a very big, busy year for Girls Rock! Chicago and so we’ve decided to end it with a bang! Join us for our final fundraiser of the year at 9pm on Saturday, December 26 at Subterranean where you can expect to be serenaded with the sweet sounds of Morrissey, compliments of a slew of fantastic Chicago musicians. Performing this set, for one night only, are: Bob Nanna (Braid, Hey Mercedes), Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy), Drew Brown (Weekend Nachos), Dustin Currier (The Felix Culpa), and Mike Kinsella (Owen, Joan of Arc). Don’t miss your opportunity to see this, and a performance by Empires!
All proceeds from the evening will benefit Girls Rock! Chicago’s upcoming summer camps for girls 9-16, as well as support our participation in the Girls Rock Camp Alliance - an international coalition that provides resources and networking opportunities for it’s affiliate camps.
Tickets are $10 and available now through Ticketweb.

Girls Rock! Chicago is currently accepting applications for our 2010 Ladies Rock Camp . This year’s camp will be held May 29th-31st at Music Garage. Applications are available now!
At this intensive weekend-long workshop, women ages 19 and older will follow a program similar to what the girls do at our summer camp: learn an instrument, form a band, write a song, and perform it - in just three days! If you are one of the many women who has thought, “I wish Girls Rock! Chicago was around when I was a kid!” this is for YOU. Each applicant will choose to play guitar, bass, or drums as her main instrument for the weekend…NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY.
Ladies Rock Camp is a fundraiser for Girls Rock! Chicago’s summer camp. For each woman who attends Ladies Rock Camp, we are able to provide a scholarship to one student at our summer Camp. We are offering a limited number of “starving artist” discounts. Check out the application for more details.
