At last, the wait is over!
We are now accepting both full-time and part-time volunteers for our fourth annual (!) Girls Rock! Chicago summer camp!
This year’s camp takes place Mon. 8/3-Sun. 8/9 in Wicker Park. Like our previous camps, this year’s will be staffed entirely by volunteers just like you: folks who are gung-ho for helping girls learn to rock. Both first-time and returning volunteers are welcome!

Are you tired of looking at that dusty amp wasting away in your closet?
Is your guitar sitting neglected and unhappy?
Donate them to a good cause!
Girls Rock! Chicago and Whole Foods Market will host a gear drive on Saturday, June 27th from 10am until 6pm. Patrons can bring their donations of gear, including guitars, basses, amps, drums, cymbals, cases, pedals, microphones, cords, etc, to four Chicago-area Whole Foods Market stores:
- Whole Foods Lincoln Park (1550 N. Kingsbury)
- Whole Foods Lakeview (3300 N. Ashland)
- Whole Foods South Loop (1101 S. Canal St)
- Whole Foods Gold Coast (30 W. Huron)
There will be live musical performances throughout the afternoon at the new Whole Foods Flagship store in Lincoln Park. Gear will be used for music education at Girls Rock! Chicago’s annual summer camp as well as additional programming and events throughout the year. All donations are tax deductible.

Join us for the first annual Ladies Rock Camp Showcase at Schuba’s on Monday, May 25th at 6pm. This show is all ages!
LADIES ROCK CAMP is intensive weekend-long workshop for women 19 and older. Ladies Rock participants will follow a program similar to the Girls Rock! Chicago summer camp curriculum: learn an instrument, form a band, write a song, and perform it - in just three days. Tuition is $400. For each woman who attends Ladies Rock Camp, we are able to provide a scholarship to one student at Girls Rock! Chicago Summer Camp.

Join Girls Rock! Chicago at the new Whole Foods Market in Lincoln Park on Thursday, May 21 from 7-8pm for a performance by Girls Rock! alumni. This performance is FREE, all ages, and open to the public!

This will be an ongoing series at Whole Foods and we’ll be continually looking for performers. So if you are a kid (boys and girls are both welcome) who wants to rock out, please get in touch.

Last summer, 70 talented girls from ages 8 to 16 hit the stage at Metro to perform 18 original songs that they had written in just one week. Join us on Thursday, April 9 for a FREE screening of Girls Rock! Chicago’s 2008 End-of-Camp Extravaganza and see for yourself what rock camp is really all about.
Plus, learn more about Girls Rock! Chicago’s core values and upcoming camps, including our first ever Ladies Rock Camp. Support our efforts by entering a RAFFLE with prizes generously donated by some of our favorite Chicago area businesses & crafters. Or grab a little something sweet to eat from our always popular BAKE SALE table.
Refreshments will be graciously provided by our host, DWR Evanston, located at 1710 Sherman Avenue.
Showcase screening will begin at 6pm, with presentation and raffle to follow.
This event is all ages, family friendly, and FREE.
