Let's Rock Camp

A fundraiser for Girls Rock! Chicago summer camp

Stay Tuned for 2019 Dates!

At this intensive weekend-long workshop, women (cis or trans), transgender folks (of any identity) and gender nonconforming folks ages 18 & up will follow a program similar to what the youth do at our summer camp: learn an instrument, form a band, write a song, and perform it – in just three and a half days! Each applicant will choose to play guitar, bass, keys, or drums, or be a DJ for the weekend. GR!C also provides breakfast and lunch from amazing local restaurants for all campers at no extra charge. We assign instruments on a first come, first serve basis, so we ask that you also provide us with a second choice instrument.

. Stay tuned for our winter 2019 dates!

Girls Rock! Chicago’s Youth Action Committee provides our past and current campers, ages 14-16, a new and unique opportunity to be involved at the highest level of GR!C. Our committee members will meet bi-monthly over the next year to work on an action in honor of Girls Rock! Chicago. This could bloom into a workshop series at the next summer camp, a community action related to a social justice cause, a presentation for our community, or a social media campaign. Stay tuned to see what amazing ideas our youth-led committee has in store!

Our next meeting is February 10th at 11 am!

JAM Club is an after-school band club for Josephinum Academy students facilitated by GR!C. In this program, students will learn how to play a traditional rock instrument and will write and perform an original song. At the end of the program, bands will showcase their newly developed skills with a performance at a professional venue and by recording an original song to be presented on a CD and online Bandcamp release.
